2011
YEAR IN REVIEW
During 2011, the Reliance Fire Company responded to 409 alarms.  Of those 409 alarms, 134 were in Pilesgrove Township, 122  were in Woodstown Borough and 153 were mutual aid alarms. The following is a breakdown of the incidents:

Also in 2011, the Reliance Fire Company compiled 4,384.51 personnel hours in responding incidents. In addition, 5,394.48 were accumulated for training and 4,447.52 hours for special assignments. The total personnel hours accrued in 2011 was 14,227.31

Responded to a record 72 alarms in August previous record was 48, set in August 2009

Held annual Fire Prevention Open House where over 200 people were in attendance

Conducted annual Fire Preventon education to over 250 elementary and pre-school students

Nine members were awarded a Unit Citation for their efforts during Hurricane Irene, those members were Chief Jeff Proud, Assistant Chief Harry Vanamen, Assistant Chief Keith Haney, Firefighters David Butler, Matt Powell, Rob Scardino,  James Schuler, Jeff Shaw Jr. and Edmund Shimp

During Hurricane Irene, crews provided 520 manpower hours while responding to 32 alarms in a 24 hour period. They successfully rescued 10 people from flood waters.
